1. Who we are
Chilltime (chilltime.co.za) is a platform for browsing and enquiring about timeshare accommodation in South Africa. We help connect people looking for holiday stays with resort availability listed on our site.
2. Information we collect
We collect only what is needed to provide the service and respond to you:
- Enquiry form (listing enquiries): When you enquire about a specific stay, we collect your name, email address and optionally your cell number. This is passed to the listing owner or our team so they can respond to your enquiry.
- Contact form: If you use the general Contact form, we collect your name, email, optional phone number, optional subject and your message. We use this to respond to your question or request.
- Technical data: Our server may log your IP address and browser type for security and to prevent abuse (e.g. rate limiting). We do not use this to identify you personally.
3. How we use your information
We use the information you provide to:
- Pass your enquiry to the relevant resort/owner so they can contact you about availability.
- Respond to messages sent via the Contact form.
- Improve our service and troubleshoot issues.
- Comply with legal obligations where required.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for marketing unless you have given separate consent.
4. Storage and security
Enquiry and contact form submissions are stored on our servers (or those of our hosting provider). We take reasonable steps to keep this data secure. Data is retained for as long as needed to fulfil your request and for legitimate business and legal purposes.
5. Who has access
Only authorised administrators of Chilltime can access stored enquiries and contact messages. Listing owners see only the details of enquiries relating to their listings (name, email, cell) so they can respond. We do not share your information with other third parties except where required by law.
6. Cookies
Our site may use minimal, essential cookies (e.g. for session or security). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
7. Your rights
You may ask us what data we hold about you and request correction or deletion, subject to applicable law (including POPIA in South Africa). To do so, use the Contact form or the contact details given on the site. We will respond within a reasonable time.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
